Materials and production
All materials used, whether natural or synthetic, and the production techniques applied, were chosen to meet the requirements expressed by the aforementioned European technical standard in terms of safety, ergonomics, comfort, durability, and harmlessness.
In addition to the mandatory basic requirements provided by the standard, the footwear may have supplementary requirements indicated by the symbols or categories present in the visible marking on the label inside the footwear.
Required features
FOOTWEAR: Vamp height; heel; sole performance (production and resistance to upper/sole detachment); foot protection and toecap characteristics (excluding EN ISO 20347), anti-slip properties.
UPPER: Characteristics of upper materials, lining, tongue, insole/sock (tear and abrasion resistance, tensile characteristics, water vapor permeability, pH and absorption and desorption of insole/sock and midsole).
SOLE: Production and resistance to tearing, abrasion, flexing, hydrolysis, sole/midsole detachment, oil and hydrocarbons (EN ISO 20345 S1-S2-S3).
